Setup SSL certificate

Once a domain is added, there should be a 'Setup 1 of 2' button on the domain status:

It'll walk you through the setup process regardless of which SSL type you chose.

Setup Zero SSL

There are two ways to set up Zero SSL: DNS verification and HTTP challenge. This process is to help us verify the domain, so we can generate an SSL certificate for you.

DNS verification

There are a couple of things you'll have to add to your DNS: CAA record and NS record. The system will provide the information you need to do the work, simply copy and paste the provided information to your DNS and you should be good to go.

We recommend you forward this to your technical team if this seems too technical to you.

Once done, click 'Verify' and the system will access your DNS to look for the records. If verified, the SSL deployment will initiate immediately; if not, the system will tell you which record is missing, and you'll need to troubleshoot and retry.

HTTP challenge

You'll need to add two CAA records and set up redirection for your domain pointing to a specific destination. For the CAA record, simply copy and paste the provided information to your DNS; for the redirection, the system will give you the original URL (your domain) and the destination URL (mlytics domain), set up redirection for the original URL pointing towards to the destination URL to finish the setup process.

We recommend you forward this to your technical team if this seems too technical to you.

Once don, click 'Verify' and the system will access your DNS to look for the records. If verified, the SSL deployment will initiate immediately; if not, the system will tell you which record is missing, and you'll need to troubleshoot and retry.

Setup Custom SSL

Paste the SSL details to the corresponding fields and click 'Verify' once ready. Please note that we only support X.509 SSL at this time.

Changing the SSL type

If you decided you want to swap to another SSL type, you can always go back to the SSL type selection page by hitting 'Back'.

You can now select which SSL type you'd like to choose again.

What happens next

Once the SSL configuration is done, you'll have to wait for the system to deploy the SSL to your domain until you can move on to the next step. This is to protect your website from any possible misconfiguration. The domain status should be showing 'SSL deploying' now and will remain so until it's done. Please note that this is not the end of the setup process, there's one last step before the domain is fully functional.

The system will send out an email to inform you once the SSL has been deployed.
